NYC Date Night

NYC Date Night

I told my husband, “wait, don’t take the picture yet.” He took the picture. The result wasn’t bad!

Happy February! The month of love is finally here! Who else loves love? I love love.

Anyway, once again, I’ve partnered up with one of my favorite stores, PinkBlush, to show you this amazing dress that I’m wearing for date night tonight! It’s super comfortable and has a thick material, which is perfect in this ice cold weather! Also, can we talk about the sleeves?! I don’t think I’ll ever get over a big, beautiful ruffle sleeve. Will you?

This is a great date night dress, but I think it’s also perfect for work! I’m wearing this dress with stilettos to make it more dressy, but if you wanted to wear this to the office, you could wear either a nice pair of black flats or if you’re into heels, then a closed toe stiletto. I like when a dress is versatile. Makes me feel like I got my money’s worth.

SO, this also was a dress I was supposed to wear in NYC last week to go see the broadway show, Dear Evan Hansen. As you may know, I was sick so we had to cancel our plans. Boo. I wanted to share with you what our day/night was going to be like to give you a few ideas for when you’re in the city!

Lunch

Serendipity

Have you heard of this restaurant? Why yes, it is indeed the Serendipity from that movie with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. This is a huge touristy spot and if you know me, you KNOW I do my best to avoid these types of places (lol). I am truly obsessed with this little restaurant, so I will continue to wait 2 hours to eat a basic sandwich with fries (their fries are incredible) and of course, the famous frozen hot chocolate.

Treats

Dylan’s Candy Bar

Also located in the Upper East side, and actually, only a few stores down from Serendipity. If you haven’t been to Dylan’s, you’re missing out. It’s one of my favorite candy stores. God, I sound like a 10 year old *face palm.* But it really is my favorite candy store. There are 3 floors of candy and chocolate deliciousness. What’s not to like?!

Dinner

Scalinatella

A high end Italian restaurant, also located on the Upper East side. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years. The food and service are impeccable. It’s a very tiny restaurant and it’s definitely romantic. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, but book quickly!

Broadway Show

Dear Evan Hansen

This is a Tony Award winning musical. It tells the story of a “young man with severe social anxiety that inhibits his ability to connect with other people and make friends.” I think it’s great that a show like this was able to encourage a dialogue on mental illness. Kudos to them. I’m just so upset we had to miss it! I’m definitely going to pick another night soon to go see it.

So that’s pretty much it! Our date night was going to be a long day/night of eating. You can always count on me to give you great spots for food. Hah! Hopefully you like these recommendations and try them out, if you haven’t already. What are your favorite restaurants?!
