Bella's First Flight

OMG GUYS, the time has come. Bella is flying for the first time tomorrow!!!

I’m actually terrified, but I don’t know why. She’s honestly so well behaved. I’m NOT just saying that. She just wants her food and toys when she wants it NOW (very bossy and sassy, but also so sweet and loves to share her food and toys). She also wants to run around free, EVERYWHERE and rarely wants to be held down to just chill... Oh wait, maybe that’s why I’m nervous.

Always wanting to explore

Always wanting to explore

Pre-baby, I never got mad or annoyed when parents walked up and down the aisle with their babies to calm them down, but like, what’s “Airplane Etiquette” when it comes to that? Is that rude? Or is it better than a screaming baby? I’d say the latter, but everyone is different. Thank God we’ll have Gigi (my Mom) with us! My Mom rarely stresses out, she’s great in tough situations and really is the calm energy in my life. What would I do without her?

So, it’s just us three girls traveling for a few days to visit my Abuelita in Puerto Rico. My Mom is great at packing and being resourceful and I’m over here like, but what if there’s a zombie apocalypse? What if a Comet hits Earth and a massive wave washes away everything you have, except for the bags you brought with you? The movie, Deep Impact... Anyone? I’m not THAT old, guys.

Anyway, she’s making me pack very lightly. I’m clearly still a child. Okay, back to me being terrified of traveling with a toddler. I’m not worried about Bella screaming or making a scene or anything like that. I think it’s more that she has so much energy and we’ll be at an airport with SO many strangers and that’s scary, but I guess I can’t live my life that way and just need to keep her in the travel stroller or use our carrier.

I’ll be recording our entire day of traveling tomorrow starting in the A.M, so you can get an idea of how a toddler acts the first time flying. I also wanted to share a list of everything I’m bringing and at the end of the trip I’ll let you know which products were useful and which ones were not. It’ll also be a great practice run for me since we’ll be traveling again at the beginning of January. That trip will be with Alfredo, Bella, and my family (Mom, Dad, and brothers).

Okay, so let’s start!

We rented a car seat with the car service we’re using to bring us to the airport, so I don’t have to take mine. We actually get to keep that car seat for the whole trip - how great is that?! I’m definitely going to be checking the car seat, because Bella will be on our laps.

You can use a stroller all the way up until you check into your gate or you just can use a carrier and check your stroller.
